Jane Blackman Weddings

Unique, warm, relaxed ceremonies. . .

at the heart of your wedding day

Hello! I'm Jane Blackman . . .

. . . a wedding-mad celebrant, trained and accredited by Humanists UK since 2014; creating and conducting relaxed, joyful, memorable, non-religious wedding and vow renewal ceremonies, full-to-bursting with personal details and fun. I also lead other ceremonies, including baby namings and funerals. You certainly do not need to be a Humanist to have a Humanist ceremony - they suit many different people with varying beliefs. I mostly provide ceremonies for people who don't label themselves as anything in particular, but who do not wish to have a religious ceremony.

Having had a varied career in education for over 20 years, as a teacher and more

recently a headteacher and education consultant, I have a wide experience and genuine enjoyment of working with families and people from all walks of life: from a range of cultures and with differing needs and beliefs.

You certainly don't need to ask here - I am very proud to be a fully inclusive celebrant and wedding supplier - and I write and conduct ceremonies for everyone, including but not limited to those who identify as LGBTQ+ – ‘Love Is Love’!

Home is on the beautiful south coast of the UK in West Sussex, where I am fortunate to have lived all my life.

When I'm not working on, or conducting ceremonies (my absolute passion in life!), I love walking the coastal and country paths near my home, spending time in my garden, sewing and baking - and travelling whenever I get the chance.

I have been very happily married for over twenty years - after meeting my husband at university, where we both trained to be teachers. He is a wedding and event photographer (Firefly Photographic) and we really enjoy working together, whenever we are lucky enough to be able to. Family and friends mean everything to us, as do our rescue cats, so spending as much time as possible with the people we love, is always a top priority!

My outlook on life is that it is too short - so live it to the fullest; be grateful for the people and the things you have - surround yourself with those who make you happy - treat others (and animals and all living things) as you would wish to be treated - and at the end of each day, no matter how challenging - try to be glad for at least one good thing that happened.
